We have been asked to assist with communications for the 2026 Canoe Race.
It is scheduled for June 13, 2026
If you wish to help out, please contact me and we'll slot you in.
As always there will be 3 checkpoints plus the finish line.
We will be tracking the canoe/kayak/stand up paddleboard numbers, and the time they arrive at the checkpoints.
Checkpoint 1 will get to go home early, it has road access (Pine Lake Road Portage)
Checkpoint 2 canoe access. (Pimisi Bay)
Checkpoint 3 road access (Samuel de Champlain Prov Park - access pass provided)

We've been invited back to Nature's Harmony to track the runners/walkers/strollers etc. for this year's

We could use 4 or 5 members to run the checkpoints and start/finish.
We have three field checkpoints that require comms to track the participants and call in
their bib number and times when they arrive.
Checkpoints can be hectic if participants arrive in groups, and the 50k people alternate

Its that time of the year folks. The Run off the Grid is happening September 28th.
We will need 5 operators (minimum) for the event.
Its an all day event, bring a lunch, chair and appropriate clothing, plus a plate/utensils for dinner.
Its too early to call the weather, but there will be an update prior to the event.

"will attend" button on the website.

The triathlon event committee has reached out to us to request our assistance.
Bill VE3TGI indicated to them that any assistance we can provide will be communications related only.
Just a heads up to book the date in case they get back to us with more information.

NBMCA is once again asking for our help with communications for the Canoe Race this year.
If you would like to volunteer, please sign up on the website. Further details as we get closer to the event date.

Having the race earlier in the year and the water levels being higher and colder, communication will be even more important.
PFD’s will be mandatory for all paddlers due to the time of year as well and NBMCA will have additional assistance
with several boats on the larger lakes.
