2017 Mattawa River Canoe Race - Update

Body:

Hi everyone; its a week to go before the race, and we are calling for a couple more volunteers.
Some of our long term volunteers are unable to attend, so we need volunteers for checkpoint 1.
The bonus for checkpoint 1 is that you are first to clear so you should be done around noon.
If you want to hang in for the free evening meal, feel free, but should you wish to depart after
the sweep arrives, that is OK too.
We need someone with cross band repeat capability, as the race checkpoint is not located in an

2017 Triathlon after-action report

Body:

We had five operators out for the Triathlon this morning. We used the NFM repeater, which provided good coverage of our checkpoints.

The Try-a-Tri (the shortened version of the main event) got underway at 08:00, and the first participant was finished 30 minutes later, with the last one running in at probably close to 09:00.

The adult triathlon started at 09:30, with the last runner nearing the finish at 12:30.

SMEAC template

Body:

Hello everyone;

I've uploaded a SMEAC template to the NBARC website, along with a sample of a completed one (from this year's Hike for Hospice).

The template is still in 'draft' form, and we'll update its content throughout the summer as we participate in events. By the fall we should have a pretty robust document.

2017 Hospice Walk Update

Body:

The 2nd Annual Hike for Hospice will soon be here. The walk takes place in the Laurier Woods on Sunday, May 7. Our meeting spot and time are the Brule Street parking lot at 9:30 a.m. A free lunch will be available to NBARC volunteers. If you would like to participate but haven't yet signed up on our website, please do so. We could use a few more bodies. Lori

2017 Run Off the Grid

Run-Off-the-Grid is this Saturday, Sept 30, 2015.

This is an event that truly needs us as there is no other means of communication onsite, no cell service.

I will be unable to attend this year due to a commitment out of town.

We would love to see more volunteers since we are going to be operating with minimum radio crew for this event.

Please bring a lunch as this has been difficult in the past logistically. Dinner will be served at the start/finish. It is catered by gd2go , and is always very, very good!

2017 Patrick 4 Life

Our attendance has been requested by Patrick4Life.
We have only 2 signed up so far, and the event is June 4th.
Please sign up on the website if you can help out.
Thanks, Paul - VA3PC
