NATIONAL NEWS

ONTARIO SECTIONS NEWS

1. GTA Simulated Emergency Test

Due to commitments made with agencies served by ARES groups in
Greater Toronto Area Section, we will hold our annual SET on
Saturday, October 18, rather than the national date of October 4.

When October 18th was first proposed as the date for the Simulated
Emergency Test, group leaders in the GTA Section moved quickly to
ensure that served agencies would have sufficient time to commit to
participation along with the amateur radio groups. By the time the
date was changed to an earlier Saturday in October, so as not to
conflict with JOTA, most of the served agencies no longer had the
flexibility of dates. GTA Section Clubs will support JOTA despite
the fact that some members will be involved in the ARES SET.
