1. RAC AGM Webinar
Radio Amateurs of Canada will hold its Eighteenth Annual General
Meeting (AGM) on July 30th in St. John's, Newfoundland. This year
RAC will offer an on-line "webinar" of the Annual General Meeting and
Question Period, for those RAC members that pre-register and
pre-submit questions by July 29th for the webinar service. Please

2. RAC Joins CITIG
Radio Amateurs of Canada is now a member of the Canadian
Interoperability Technology Interest Group. CITIG was started in
2007 and is led by Police Inspector Lance Valcour and supported by
the Canadian Police Chiefs Association. It provides funding to
groups across the country who have an interest in improving wireless
radio interoperability. The members of CITIG represent all branches
of first responder agencies and emergency managers from the private
sector and governments, including Industry Canada and Public Safety
Canada.

3. Islands on the Air July 30
The Islands on the Air contest runs 1200 UTC July 30 to 1200 UTC July
31, on 80 through 10 metres. Exchange RS(T), serial number, and IOTA

4. ARISSat-1 Test July 30
The ARISSat-1 satellite will be tested from the International Space
Station, from 1915 UTC 30 July to about 1200-1400 UTC 31 July. During
the test ARISSat-1 will be in LOW power mode, this means that it will
transmit a cycle of 40 seconds on, 2 minutes off. The standard
ARISSat-1/KEDR 2m downlink band plan should be transmitted, and the
FM signal will also be downlinked on 437.55 MHz.
The final deployment of ARISSat is tenatively scheduled for August

5. Special Event Stations
From August 5th to August 8th, special event station CG3TEST will
commemorate the 50th anniversary of the speedboat Miss Supertest III
winning the Harmsworth Trophy three years in a row from 1959 to 1961.
All contacts will be uploaded to Logbook Of The World, and paper
QSL's will be sent to all stations via the QSL bureau.
From August 11th to August 20th, special event station CG100NS
(C-G-one hundred-N-S) will operate from the Heritage Explosion
Jamboree, celebrating 100 Years of Girl Guiding in Nova Scotia. QSL
