NATIONAL NEWS
1. ARES ID Cards On The Way
To those who have been waiting for new or updated ARES ID cards: due
to an unexpected illness, our supplier had to briefly suspend
operations. Operations have resumed, the backlog has been cleared,
and cards have been shipped to RAC. Upon their arrival their
shipment to you will be expedited. Thanks for your understanding!

2. Canada Day Contest
RAC's annual Canada Day contest will take place July 1 from 0000 to
2359 UTC, on 160, 80, 40, 20, 15, 10, 6 and 2 metres, CW and phone.
Suggested frequencies for CW are 25 kHz up from the band edge. For
SSB, 1850, 3775, 7075, 7225, 14175, 21250, 28500 kHz. Check for CW
activity on the half-hour. Stations in Canada send RS(T) and province
or territory; VE0s and stations outside Canada send RS(T) and a

3. OPN Seeks Net Controller
The Ontario Phone Net has an immediate need for a Net Control station
for the Saturday evening net, which meets on 3.745 MHz at 19:00
Eastern Time. If you can help out, please contact James VE3TPZ, via

4. Canada Day Radio-thon
In conjunction with the Canada Day Contest, members from the Niagara
Peninsula Amateur Radio Club will be holding their Fourth Annual
Canada Day Radio-thon for Charity. NPARC members will canvass
family, friends and the public for pledges. On July 1st, the more
contacts they make, the more they will raise for charity. For more

5. Special Event Stations
From July 1st to July 31st, special event station XM2I will
commemorate the Parks Canada Centennial (1911-2011). QSL via VE2EBK.
From July 29th to 31st, operation will be from Ile-aux-Grues,
Quebec, for the IOTA contest. Visit www.qsl.net/na128cg for details.
From July 4th to July 10th, special event station CG3E will
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the sponsorship in Alberta by
