1. Canada Day Results Posted

Results for the 2014 Canada Day contest are posted on the Radio
Amateurs of Canada website at www.rac.ca/en/rac/programmes/contests.
Certificates will be sent out via email, so look for them starting
in late January.

2. New ARRL HF Contesting Guidelines

ARRL's Contest Advisory Committee has revised the HF Contesting
Guidelines. The revisions address recent technological changes,
including remote station operation, and present a current
understanding of contesting standards and practices. The goals of
the document are to provide guidance and advice, especially for new
contesters, and to encourage contest operation that advances the
spirit and integrity of radiosport. Find it in HTML and PDF at

3. Nominations Open for ARRL Technical Awards

The ARRL also seeks nominations for awards to individual radio
amateurs or groups, that recognize educational and technological
pursuits in Amateur Radio. The Microwave Development Award is for
contributing to the development of the Amateur Radio microwave bands.
The Technical Service Award is for providing Amateur Radio technical
assistance or training to others. The ARRL Technical Innovation Award
is granted for developing and applying new technical ideas or
techniques in Amateur Radio.

The nomination deadline is March 31. The awards appear to be open to
non-ARRL members, but nominations must come from an ARRL member. For

4. Amplitude Demodulating BPSK31

Amplitude demodulation for phase-shift keying? That's what the web
site "Analog Zoo" has done, with nothing more than op amps and a 555
timer. It's a clever and instructive low-tech "hack". Find it at

5. Repeaterbook.com unveils Worldwide Search

www.repeaterbook.com, which describes itself as "the best free
resource for amateur radio repeater information in the United States,
Canada, and Mexico", is expanding to cover the rest of the world.
RepeaterBook relies on users to provide up-to-date information, so
please check out their listings for the repeaters in your area.
