NATIONAL NEWS

1. Season's Greetings from RAC

We at the Radio Amateurs of Canada hope that your 2011 was healthy
and prosperous for you and yours. We wish you the most Wondrous
Holiday Season; full of family, friends and good cheer.

We wish that your 2012 will be healthy, prosperous, accompanied by
many friends and that your life will continue to be meaningful and
satisfying.

And we wish you many contacts.

2. RAC Holiday Office Hours

The RAC office will be closed December 24, 25, 26, and 27th. We will
be open December 28, 29, and 30, from 10:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. Eastern
Standard Time. We will be closed January 1 and 2, and return to our
regular hours on January 3rd.

ONTARIO SECTION NEWS

3. GLETN Time Change

Effective immediately, the Great Lakes Emergency and Traffic Net will
hold its pre-net at 7:30 pm, and the main net at 8:00 pm, Eastern
Time, due to band conditions. GLETN meets on 3.932 MHz, 365 nights a
year.

4. Mac Ham Radio

Owners of Apple Macintosh computers may be interested in the
MacHamRadio web site, www.machamradio.com, with news, forums, and a
lengthy listing of software. Also of interest are DL2SDR's Software
Defined Radio for the Mac, at tinyurl.com/dl2sdr, and N6HZ's
Heterodyne SDR software, at www.nh6z.net.

5. "73" Magazine Archive

The Internet Archive project has just published nearly every issue of
defunct "73" magazine, all the way back to January 1961. The
magazine was known for its strong emphasis on technical articles and
for the lengthy editorials in each issue by its founder and
publisher, Wayne Green. It ceased publication in 2003. You may read
the material online or download PDF files, at
