1. Pakistan Relief Frequencies
Several HF, VHF and UHF frequencies have been set aside for  relief
communications in Pakistan. The HF frequencies are 7.070, 14.200 and
14.300 MHz.  Please cooperate by keeping these frequencies clear.

2. Missisauga Amateur Radio Club 25th Anniversary
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Mississauga ARC, special
event station VC3M will be active from September 18 to October 18, on
all HF bands except the WARC bands.  For QSL and other info, see
VC3M on QRZ.com.

3. Halton County Radial Railway Event
On September 18th, the Mississauga Amateur Radio Club will once again
operate a Halton County Radial Railway special event station, from
1400 to 2000 UTC, using call sign VC3M. SSB Frequencies will be 7.227
MHz, 14.240 Mhz, 21.315 MHz, 28.480 MHz +/- QRM.  For more

4. Portuguese AM Feast
The Association of Radio Amateurs of the Alentejano Coast in Portugal
invites everyone to participate in a special commemoration of
Amplitude Modulation, using the 80, 40, 20, 10 and 2 metre bands, on
Sunday, September 19.  HF frequencies will be
3.685 MHz - from 06:00 to 08:00 UTC
7.100 MHz - from 08:00 to 11:00 UTC - alternate frequency 7.143 MHz
14.286 MHz - from 13:00 to 14:00 UTC
29.075 MHz - from 14:00 to 15:00 UTC
The objectives are to provide an opportunity for the use of antique
or collection transmitters, and to promote practical training and
knowledge about an emission mode that is falling into disuse.

5. Software Freedom Day 2010
September 18th is Software Freedom Day, a worldwide celebration of
Free and Open Source Software.  Ontario events will be held in
Kingston, Pickering, and Waterloo.  For more information visit
