NBARC January 8th, 2014 Meeting Report.

In attendance: VA3BDR, VE3YO, VA3DLJ, VE3GMG, VE3YYB, VE3TGI, VA3PC, VE3MAF, VE3DLL, VE3XKB, VE3KAN, VA3CMX, VA3SPT, VE3ATK, VE3JGH, VE3LOR.

Called to order at 1940ET.

Correspondence: RAC Insurance Coverage confirmation.

New hams/members: nil

Nets: Sunday at 0900ET. Still getting a standard 8-10 check-ins.

Repeaters: Still working well. Timer board still acting up. Paul working on another controller board to see if it will solve the time problem.

ECHOLINK/IRLP: Appears to be working.

Website: Still working well. Please sign up for newsletters etc. Went live a little over 3 years ago.

ARES: Trailer still at VE3MAF. Most municipalities require some Emergency management training. The  IMS100 and IMS 200 courses are good. EMO website http://www.emergencymanagementontario.ca/english/home.html  .

Hamfests: None in the immediate future.

Contest Club: Operated the North American QSO Party. Nothing new.

RAC: Paul gave a report. See the website for more.

Events: None scheduled in the near future. Need a canoeist for the Mattawa Canoe Race as Bill and Betty have a previous engagement.

Old Business: Christmas Party. Went well and all enjoyed themselves.
Doug and Rick have made contacts with areas beyond North Bay (Nipissing Village, Restoule etc).
Vests. If you want one let Bill know within 2 weeks and he will re-order. $15.00 per.

New Business: Bill has been EC for North Bay and Area for 15 years. He is looking for a replacement. If you are interested let Bill silver@ontera.net or Paul va3pc@ciinet.org know. Must be a RAC member.
Field Day June 28th/29th 2014. More discussion at the February Meeting. Probably the same weekend as the Triathalon.
