1206 (June 13th) NBARC Meeting Report

NBARC June 13th 2012 meeting report.

Attendance: VE3TGI, VE3GMG, VE3YYB, VA3PC, VA3DLJ, VA3BDR, VE3SWS, VE3LOR, VE3KAN, VE3YO, VE3MAA, VE3MAF, VE3XKB, VE3KAA, VA3CMX, VA3SPT

Called to order 1940ET by Bill VA3SPT.

Correspondence: Lost in the Rocks and Trees. Nick Green dropped of a cheque for $500.00 to cover the last few years.
North Bay Mattawa Conservation requesting assistance with the Mattawa Canoe Race again this year.
Mike Burke from the Triathalon requesting our help again this year.

Treasurer: $20.00 dues

NETS: 2M still nil. 80M light last week due to Patrick4Life.

Repeaters: Still working as expected. Time still wrong. Paul will be resetting the time generator and then be looking for reports as to how far off it is. There is a problem with a few of the boards. ECHOLINK/IRLP working well.

Contest club: Nothing new.

RAC: Not much new. Canada Day Contest July 1st. This is a low pressure. Have fun. Check the website www.ve3nbc.ca for more.

ARES: Nil.

Events: MS Walkathon. Lori gave a report. It was highly disorganized. Will have to look seriously at doing it again next year due to liability concerns.
CANWARN training. Went well.
Patrick4Life. Bill gave a report. They changed route and left old route on the website. There were a few glitches but overall it went well with no major issues. Bill is looking for suggestions to improve the event. If you have any send him an e-mail silver@ontera.net with your suggestions/comments.
Triathlon. July 1st. Still need volunteers.
LOTR (Lost in the Rocks and Trees) July 14th. Still need volunteers. Any suggestions for improvement send Bill an e-mail silver@ontera.net .
Mattawa Canoe Race. July 28th. Still need volunteers.
SITP (Summet in the Park). August 3rd 4th 5th (long weekend). Basically the same as last year. Concerts will be on the downtown side of the tracks. Still need a police check. Let Paul know so he can get you a voucher for the police check.
Run off the grid. Sept 29th.

Old Business: Nil

New Business: Donation $100.00 to Canadian Diabetes Society in memory of Norm Richardson VE3NLH.

There was a Field Day presentation. We will be donating $100.00 to the Mattawa Conservation Educational fund. Doug will be sending around more info. Keep a watch on the website www.ve3nbc.ca for updates.

This was out last meeting for the summer. The next meeting will be September 12th 2012.
