Norm's Visitation

Tomorrow, Sunday June 10, I will be travelling to attend the visitation being held in Englehart to celebrate the life of Norm Richardson.

If there is anyone else interested in joining me, I will have 2-3 seats available.

Leaving the Staples/Zellers parking lot at 13:00, and returning 19:30 to 20:00 approx.... I am told it is about a 2 hr. 20 min drive.

Field Day doesn't happen by magic. Dedicated and knowledgeable people work together to make it happen. If you are an amateur radio operator in Northeastern Ontario, or plan to be in the area during Field Day, we'd love to have you join with us. Some of the jobs available:
· antenna erectors (Saturday 8:00 a.m.)
· generator and power distribution
· shelter erectors
· food handlers
· station tear down (Sunday 14:00 p.m.)
· operators

It is confirmed that we can use the Conservation Centre and Laurentian Ski Club area on Janey next to the Vincent Massey School, on Saturday, June 23, and Sunday, June 24th.

Use the club webpage http://www.ve3nbc.ca/content/welcome to mark your attendance on the Event page, attendance. The list has started: we need more operators to make it a great weekend.

Here is the basic framework:

STATION 1 - 20 and 10 METRES to start (PAUL’S VA3PC EQUIPMENT )
DIPOLE ANTENNA
VERTICAL ANTENNA
ICOM OR OTHER HF RADIO

June 23-24

Mark that weekend on your calendar!
Mark your attendance on the Club Website as soon as you know you can make it.

It is decided! The club decided at the March meeting to operate a field day radio station location for the 2012 ARRL and RAC Field Day.

PLACE: We will confirm with you ASAP, but 1st choice is the Laurentian Ski Club, tall pines, and parking lot on Janey, off of Airport Road.

Setup time: Saturday, June 23rd at 10:00 a.m.
Operating: Saturday 14:00 p.m. to Sunday 14:00 local time, or as decided by participants.

An updated confidential (not posted on the web) call-up list will be circulated at the next meetings this Spring. Thank you in advance for volunteering to be available should an emergency arise in the North Bay area.
