1. British Columbia QSO Party
The 2014 BC QSO Party will run from 1600z Feb 1 to 0400z Feb 2. The
objective for stations outside BC is to work as many BC stations as
possible. Rules, exchange and multipliers, awards, helpful hints and
a  schedule of same-day events can be  accessed from the BCQP
homepage on the Orca DXCC website at www.orcadxcc.org/bcqp.html.

1. 60 Metre Band Allocations

Industry Canada has approved five frequencies within the 60 meter
band for amateur radio use. They are: 5332 kHz, 5348 kHz, 5358.5 kHz,
5373 kHz and 5405 kHz.

The five frequencies are the same as authorized in the USA, with the
same power restriction of 100 watts ERP. Transmissions, independent
of emission mode, must be centered on each of the five frequencies,

1. SHARP 3.1 Successful Mission

RAC congratulates the students, volunteers, and teacher Robert
Streimer VE4SHS, at Shaftsbury High School in Winnipeg for a
successful launch of the Shaftsbury High Altitude Robotics Project.
The SHARP 3.1 helium filled balloon carried an assortment of sensors
plus four cameras to an altitude of 35,727 meters (117,214 feet).

Congratulations are extended to Mr. Rod Hardman, VE3RHF who was
recently acclaimed as the RAC Director for Ontario South. His term
