ARES NBARC WORKSHOP NEWS May, 2012

The Spring session workshop series plan includes:

Awareness of the four stages of response: ( nCould be called on in any phase, but more likely for a, b, and parts of c.)

1. a. Preparedness
b. Immediate response
c. Initial recovery
d. Long term restoration

2. Members update phone tree with em to Doug and also the information on the ARES Magnetawan website now.

3. Incident Management Systems – Reactions and professional services response awareness. (Table top response exercise copy).

4. ARES NBARC club planned reaction, individual roles, and activities if a ‘call out’ occurs… May meeting.

5. Confirm phone tree availability… monthly.

6. Plan specific set-up of remote stations, frequency use and changes, trailer haul & set-up, plus member equipment, etc. that has been noted on the website sign-in.

7. Participate in various events this Spring and Summer to practice set-up, message passing, roles, use of radios and radiograms. Some of these events include the normal community service such as walks, races, and Summer in the Park, plus Field Day.

We look forward to an interesting and enjoyable time ahead this spring and summer working with the various activities. It should be noted that we are rehearsing for a response to an event that we hope never occurs, but at least we will be prepared if it does.

Thanks for your support,
Doug
