SMITH, John - It is with heavy hearts that John's family announces his passing on Monday, July 4, 2016 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, he was in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Letitia Smith (nee Lenfesty). Cherished father of Linda (Roger), Ron (Louise), Ken (Holly) and Barbara (Gary). Proud grandfather of Cindy, Caroline, Keegan, Trevor, Nicolas, Julie, Martin and great-granddaughter Adley. Sadly missed by his siblings Margaret Robinson and David (Shirley) Smith. John worked for Canadian John`s Mansville North Bay, he was a Safety Assistant at E.B. Eddy Espanola, he is a retired Commander of the Algonquin Regiment, assistant of the 406 Wing Branch 23 Legion. He loved spending time at their family cottage on Hemlock Island on Trout Lake. Family will receive friends at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Cremation has taken place at Forest Lawn Crematorium. If desired, donations to the Northern Cancer Research or North Bay Regional Health Centre would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
