NATIONAL NEWS

1. Volunteers needed for Dayton Hamvention

RAC is returning to the Dayton Hamvention for 2014, and we are once
again looking for volunteers to operate the booth over May 16 to
18th. Last year we organized a single three hour slot for each
volunteer. If you can help, please forward your contact information
and availability by email to ve4baw (at) rac.ca, with a cc: to our
office at rachq (at) rac.ca.

2. RAQI Election of directors

Radio Amateur du Quebec Inc. has elected, by acclamation, directors
for three divisions. Guy Richard, VE2XTD, was re-elected to represent
Division II (Quebec). Normand Pitre, VE2NHK, will represent Division
IV (South West). Pierre Martel, VE2PF, will represent Division VI
(Centre of Quebec). RAQI welcomes the new directors and wishes them
good luck in their new mandate.

ONTARIO SECTIONS NEWS

3. TPN Net Controllers Needed

The Trans-Provincial Net is seeking net controllers. TPN meets daily
on 7.055 MHz, lower sideband, from 7 am to 5 pm Eastern Time. If you
can help by taking a regular shift, please check into TPN and speak
with a net control station, or contact Shawn VE3PSV via NTS message.

4. Montreal Fleamarket

The Montreal Amateur Radio Club will hold its fleamarket on Saturday,
April 12, at a new location: the St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish
Church, 4455 West Broadway, Montreal. General admission at 9 am;

5. Ontario QSO Party

The 2014 Ontario QSO Party runs from 1800Z April 19 to 0500Z April
20, and from 1200Z to 1800Z April 20. The objective is for Ontario
stations to contact as many amateur radio stations as possible
world-wide, CW and phone, using the bands 160-2 meters except the
WARC bands. Ontario stations send signal report and county; others
send signal report and province, state, or DXCC country abbreviation.

6. World Amateur Radio Day 2014

Each year, April 18 is World Amateur Radio Day, celebrating the
founding of the International Amateur Radio Union in 1925. This
year's theme is "Amateur Radio: Your Gateway to Wireless
Communications."

This year, April 18 is Good Friday. The IARU encourages participants
to schedule activities earlier or later, as required to accommodate
the Easter weekend.
