ONTARIO SECTION NEWS

1. Section Traffic Manager Needed

Ontario Section is in need of a Section Traffic Manager, to serve
until the Section reorganization is complete this fall. The
appointment description can be found at tinyurl.com/fsd251r (Fox
Sierra Delta Two Five One Romeo). In the interim, net reports and
station activity reports should be sent to the Section Manager, Allan
Boyd VE3AJB, via email, ve3ajb (at) vianet.ca.

2. CANWARN Training May 8 - May 10

CANWARN training will be held in the following locations:

On Tuesday, May 8, in Toronto, 7 PM, at the Environment Canada
offices, 4905 Dufferin St.

On Thursday, May 10, in Peterborough, 7 PM, at the Peterborough
Public Library, 345 Aylmer St. North.

3. Smiths Falls Flea Market

The Rideau Lakes Amateur Radio Club will hold its 28th Flea Market on
Saturday, May 12, at the Smiths Falls Curling and Squash Club, Old
Sly's Road, in Smiths Falls. General admission at 9 am; talk-in on
VE3RLR repeater, 147.21 (+). This is a new location; visit

4. Special Event Station VE3A

From May 10 to June 9, special event station VE3A will commemorate
the Diamond Jubillee of HM The Queen of Canada. Expected frequencies
are 28.490, 21.290, 14.290, 7.143 MHz. QSL via VE3RHE (Direct or via
Bureau) or N0OKA (Direct Only); we will also be using LoTW. For more

5. Special Event Station VX3W

Members of the Manotick Amateur Radio Group will be operating special
event station VX3W from Fort Wellington in Prescott, Ontario, on
Saturday, May 19th from 10:00 EDT to 16:00 EDT (1400Z to 2000Z) to
commemorate the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812. Operation will
be mostly HF phone, but local operators may find us on VHF or UHF
