NATIONAL NEWS
1. New RAC Honorary Legal Counsel
Marcel Mongeon, VA3DDD, has been appointed as RAC's Honorary Legal
Counsel, starting on March 31, 2011. Marcel replaces Steve Pengelly,
VE3STV, our HLC since 2004, who has chosen to pass the mantle to a
new volunteer.  We thank Steve for his years of hard work, and
welcome Marcel on board.

ONTARIO SECTION NEWS
2. CANWARN Training, May 14 - May 18
CANWARN training will be offered near Ottawa on May 14th, at 9 AM, at
the Nepean Sailing Club, 3259 Carling Ave., Nepean.
On May 18th, at 7 PM, in Toronto, at Environment Canada Headquarters,
4905 Dufferin St.
Also on May 18th, at 7 PM, in Renfrew, at the Best Western, 760
Gibbons Road.
If you will be attending a CANWARN training session, please send an
email to Geoff.Coulson (at) ec.gc.ca, so that he can reserve space.

3. Smiths Falls Flea Market
The Rideau Lakes Amateur Radio Club will hold their 27th annual flea
market on Saturday, May 14, at the Smiths Falls Youth Arena, at the
corner of Cornelia Street (highway #43) and Elmsley Street, in Smiths
Falls.  Open to the public at 9 a.m.; talk-in on VE3RLR repeater,

4. Ottawa School ISS Contact
On Wednesday, April 13, Hopewell Ave. Public School in Ottawa took
part in an ARISS contact via telebridge station WH6PN in Hawaii.  Six
hundred students gathered for the event and listened to astronaut
Paolo Nespoli answer 16 questions posed by the youth.  Talk Radio

5. Field Day Station Locator
The ARRL provides an interactive map that helps amateurs, or those
interested in amateur radio, find a nearby Field Day site. You can
also read a list by state or province.  The service is available to
ARRL members in the U.S. and Canada.  To add your group, just go to
www.arrl.org/field-day-locator and follow the instructions.
