Scouter Candy - Gone Home

It is with profound sadness that I notify you all that Candy passed away early this morning. Most of you know that she had been valiantly battling cancer for the past 5 years and seemed to be staying on top of it. Late last week, however, a complication developed in her lungs - and despite medical intervention she was unable to rally.

There were two things that she really liked to do - Bagpiping and Scouting - and she was the happiest when she could do both at the same time.  The Ontario Gillwell Pipe Band has lost one of its most enthusiastic members.  From Cub Leader through to Council Commissioner, she enjoyed her many years in Scouting and treasured the friendships that she made along the way .

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Martyn Funeral Home in North Bay, with the funeral tentatively scheduled for 11 am on Friday, June 5 at St. Andrew's Church in North Bay.

A dedicated Scouter, wife, mother and grandmother - she will be missed.

Derek
