The third annual EmComm East conference is slated for September 18,
in Rochester, New York.  EmComm East is an ARRL-sanctioned Amateur
Radio emergency communications conference where operators can attend
training sessions on technical topics, learn from served agencies,

1. New RAC Director for Quebec
Congratulations are extended to Mr. James Keep, VE2KHC, who was
recently appointed as the RAC Director for Quebec for the remainder
of a two year term ending December 31, 2012.  Mr. Keep is a Certified
Emergency Coordinator, has trained with  the Sécurité Civil Quebec
and is also a registered Radio Amateurs of Quebec Inc. member.

1. RAC Membership Campaign
Radio Amateurs of Canada has announced a year-long membership
campaign starting on Field Day 2010.  RAC is providing campaign
materials such as brochures, and is asking each RAC member to
personally ask 20 amateurs to join RAC -- whether they join or not,
just ask 20.  The goal is to increase RAC membership by 1,000 over

1. Ontario Phone Net on Field Day
As in previous years the Ontario Phone Net (OPN) will be in operation
for Field Day, running our regular scheduled net activities.  The
"Pre Net" will start at approximately 18:30 hours Eastern time, and
the net at 19:00, as close to 3.742 MHz as conditions will allow.
Remember that there are bonus points awarded for NTS messages being
sent from your field day site to the Ontario Section Manager and the

The Nanaimo Amateur Radio Association will host a 24 hour special
events station VE7TUB beginning on July 24 to commemorate the annual
running of the World Championship Bathtub Race to be held on July 25
