NATIONAL NEWS
1. New 472-479 kHz allocation
	Canadian amateurs are now authorized to use the 472-479 kHz band.
	Operations are subject to the international footnotes in Industry
	Canada's April 2014 Canadian Table of Frequency Allocations, which
	limit power to 5 watts EIRP except in certain areas within 800 km of
	certain other countries.
	The RAC 0-30 MHz Band Planning Committee will be proposing a suitable
	plan to enable best use of this very narrow band. Comments and
	suggestions may be emailed to the committee via rachq (at) rac.ca.

3. Orillia CANWARN Training
	CANWARN training will be offered near Orillia on May 24, 9 AM, at the
	Rama Fire Hall, 7454 Willams Road, in Rama.

4. VX9MOSKVA Special Event
	From May 24 to June 22, special event callsign VX9MOSKVA will
	commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the historic Iluyushin DB-3
	"Moskva" Flight, from Moscow to Miscou Island, New Brunswick. QSL
	via VE9GFD.

5. AMSAT Field Day rules available
	The 2014 AMSAT Field Day rules are now available online at
www.amsat.org [3], under the "Events" menu.

6. Voice of Russia QRT
	After months of conflicting reports, the Voice of Russia permanently
	ended its shortwave broadcasts at the end of March. As with many
	other government broadcasters, the Voice of Russia cited budgetary
	problems as the reason for ending its shortwave broadcasts.
