I received a call from Eric Meth, VE3EI who is ICOM's manufacturer representative (I believe) for Eastern Canada.  He will be in Sudbury on Thursday to meet with several two-way dealers, and as he wanted to visit North Bay (last time was 40 years ago) - has volunteered to give a short talk and answer questions about the D-STAR digital amateur radio system.  He's planning to be here after supper, so I booked the boardroom at the PCC for 19:00 for anyone who wants to get together and have a chat.

I'm sorry about the short notice, but I just heard from Eric this morning.  He and I used to work at Motorola many many moons ago.
