Hello Everyone, this Saturday is the North Bay - Mattawa Canoe Race.
The plan is to have our usual meet and breakfast at Tim Hortons at Seymour and the bypass between 07:00 and 07:30. Departure for the various checkpoints is scheduled for 08:00. I will have paperwork for the checkpoints at Tim Hortons in the morning.
The more the merrier so if you haven't signed up come out and lend a hand, there's always room for extra bodies.
We will be operating on VE3NBR repeater at 147.150+ out of Mattawa.
North Bay - Mattawa Conservation Authority is again holding the Canoe Race.

I have been asked to report to the volunteer table before 07:30 in the "market square" - near the museum.
Here are the starting times. There is a 3 hour limit for the walkers to complete the 1/2 marathon.

One wrinkle this year is that they would like a radio sitting about 300 yeards from the finish to call in the participant numbers to the announcer on the stage (therefore, 2 volunteers more than usual).
6-8 volunteers required.
Just a last minute reminder of Run Off the Grid tomorrow at Nature's Harmony in Mattawa. We have confirmed the event will run as scheduled regardless of the forecast.
Pleae remember to bring your mess kit and rain gear. It always promises to be a great event regardless of the weather forecast.
They have approximately 140 competitors registered this year, so we should have a fun-filled day.
